The browband is wrapped in black morocco leather and has a domed black leather rosette with scalloped edges on each end. The rosettes are threaded onto a flap with a brass stud closure. The inside of the browband is stamped "H35" on one side, there is a maker's stamp on the other side but this is not legible. The headstall has keepers which would hold the T bars of a watering bit.
